A Portable Vision and Audio Story…

Gina* is an exceptional artist. Ideas and images come to her like thirsty animals to a watering hole. And she’s fearless to create works which bring them to life. It’s not surprising, as both her parents are incredibly creative and have encouraged her in the development of her artistic talents. But Gina is wounded—addiction within a child’s family story can create oceans of pain and confusion for a kid. We know this because, over the years, Gina has become increasingly open with her story.

What Gina sometimes fails to recognize is that her appropriate vulnerability has also inspired her peers to bring their darkness into the light. It’s actually community building. Additionally, whenever we remind Gina that she is a natural leader and a positive source of encouragement to her peers, she seems genuinely surprised to hear it (but loves it)… and then continues about her unique way—creating, engaging, connecting.

As a result of her childhood trauma, Gina has been openly reticent to trust a God who she believes would allow such pain into her story. But she keeps coming back to YFC. She hears the Gospel, and she wrestles with her doubts. She makes incredible art. She encourages her friends. She hears the stories of others, and she continues to courageously revisit her own story… with greater and greater clarity. We pray for Gina with great hope and expectancy. Will you join us in that prayer?

These are the kinds of journeys and kids you support when you give to YFC. We’re honored to partner with you.
