A Band of Brothers Story…
Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside a young man named *Mikey through our Youth for Christ program, Band of Brothers (BoB). From day one, Mikey made his presence known- confident, outgoing, and full of energy. He has never been the quiet kid in the back of the room; he has always been the one stepping forward, cracking jokes, and trying to be the guy everyone looks to. With that boldness, though, has come the challenge of learning how to use his influence in a way that builds others up instead of pushing them aside or trying to be the center of attention.
Our journey has included many intentional one-on-one conversations, especially around purity, healthy relationships, and honoring Christ with his heart and actions. We’ve also talked honestly about pride, leadership, and how sometimes his desire to be seen or be the “cool guy” can push people away instead of drawing them in. What I appreciate most is that Mikey has not backed away from these conversations. He has shown humility to ask hard questions, wrestle with truth, and invite God to shape him. Watching him learn that real strength is found in character, self-control, and treating others with love, has been a gift.
Now, as a senior stepping into a season full of big decisions, Mikey and I are seeking the Lord together. Asking what comes next and how he can follow Jesus with integrity, purpose, and courage. Please join us in praying that Mikey continues to grow as a servant-hearted leader who honors Christ not just in who he wants to become, but in how he treats those around him every day. Thank you for supporting Youth for Christ, your investment helps students like Mikey take real steps toward lifelong discipleship, purity, and Kingdom impact.
