Fighting Through Fear

A Hoop Time Story…

Hoop Time had the opportunity to attend a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) camp in the Twin Cities at the end of June. Upon reflecting on the week, this is a YFC leader’s highlight with the boys…

It was the second night of chapel service… The worship band, Stumbling Saints, lead worship. They are amazing! Some of the kids were more reserved, but some of them would be swaying and lifting praise and bouncing around which was very satisfying to see. Pastor Daniel Young of Eagle Brook shared the messages through out camp and was really able to engage with the age group that was mainly there.

On this particular night, Pastor Daniel spoke on fighting through fear so we can come to him. One way he encouraging us to do this is see ourselves how God sees us.  At the end of the message with heads bowed he offered for people to stand up if they had a fear holding them back in their relationship with Jesus… Was there something they needed to let go of and be changed in their hearts? Multiple Hoop Time boys stood up, along with others and were prayed over by Pastor Daniel and the rest of the church. Seeing their courage to stand up for their relationship with Jesus was powerful!
